In today’s electronic assembly, SMT adhesives secure surface-mount components during assembly. SMT adhesives are strategically placed on printed circuit boards (PCBs) before the assembly of surface-mounted components. The adhesives stabilize components during the soldering or wave-soldering processes and keep the components on the board. Double sided PCB assemblies have components on both sides of the PCB. These adhesives are used to hold components for soldering the other side of the PCB. Most SMT adhesives have strong bonds, negative heat shrink, and rapid curing. Thus, SMT adhesives are ideal for high volume electronic assemblies.
